Rowan is quite possibly an 18th Century princess living in modern day times. With an eye for whimsy and a flare for Marie Antoinette, the pictures she curates and shares with the world are a springtime dream. Scrolling though her feed, you might discover a little outfit inspiration, or something delicious baking in a heart shaped cake pan, or a cozy, cattle filled field.
Or maybe just a Spongebob meme.
Whatever you find is sure to give you either a sense of tranquility or a giggle so keep reading for her thoughts on French New Wave, two person button jobs and handwritten letters.
Hi Rowan, please introduce your wonderful self!
Hello ~ My name is Rowan and I currently live in Los Angeles, CA. I moved here a little over six months ago and work for a production company.
How would you describe your style in 3 words?
Comfy. Above all, else I have to be comfortable or I’ll just have a horrible time. Besides that, I try to shoot for somewhere between timeless and a little bit weird.
Who or what are your current biggest style inspirations?
I find myself being drawn to the outfits and hairstyles found in French New Wave films. Probably from being subjected to hours of them while in school; I really love the shapes and color palettes those actresses would wear. I’ve also always been drawn to the Fantasy genre, and try to bring some of those elements to my wardrobe (i.e. billowy skirts, interesting fabrics, etc.)
What's the best outfit you've ever worn?
Hard to say. I’ve always been partial to a blue dress I own that’s from the 70’s. I wear it all the time and in all scenarios, so it’s seen a lot. The buttons down the back kind of make it a two-person job to put on, but it’s still one of my favorites.
What's on your wish list right now?
I’ve always wanted a Gunne Sax dress. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect one for a while now. The more ridiculous, the better. I want to wear it in Trader Joe’s.
Who would you invite to your fantasy dinner party?
Agnès Varda, Trixie Mattel, and Stephen King.
What's something you're really proud of right now?
I’ve been making my bed everyday. Also, I’ve been exchanging hand-written letters with my friends from out-of-state, which is extremely sweet and I recommend everyone tries it.
