Hi Larissa! Please introduce your wonderful self!
My name is Larissa Gill, I am 21 years old and an aries! I grew up around Philadelphia but I now live in New York. I study Fashion Marketing at FIT and I am interested in creative direction and the editorial side of fashion. My dream job is to be a fashion and creative direction consultant and help companies with everything creative!
1. How would you describe your style in 3 words?
My style in three words would be colorful, I love wearing a ton of color and you will rarely see me in neutral tones or all black. Next, I would say retro/vintage inspired, it is hard to put an exact word on this because the word "retro" is super over played but I shop mostly vintage and tend to be inspired by the 80's and 90's. Lastly, I would say fun, I love throwing multiple statement pieces in one outfit and I am not afraid to mismatch and throw in as much color as possible!
2. What does personal style mean to you?
Personal style doesn’t just mean clothes, it's more than that to me. I think personal style is how you carry yourself, speak, dream, and of course how you dress. With time my personal style has changed a lot, but I think recently I have really found my own style that I will stick with for awhile!
3. Who or what inspires your style most?
Ah SO much! My depop and Instagram saved is basically filled with thick sweaters, silk dresses, and fun jackets. Some items I have in my shopping cart are: vintage Patagonia vest from the 80's, red Prada nylon bag, and a silk polka a dot skirt. Can you tell I am ready for the Fall? I think this winter and fall I will be wearing a ton of chunky sweater with a fun pant and sneakers and maybe a funky vest? Basically all of that is what I have been eyeing up vintage wise!
4. What’s one tip you could share for finding your personal style?
Try out everything and don't be afraid to change your style drastically! For people who have been following me for while, you probably noticed in the past two years my style drastically changed. I use to have a boho (free people like) style and in the past year, I sold all of my clothes and completely got a whole new wardrobe. So with finding your personal style, you have to be patient for sure, let it come naturally to you. I think it's such a great feeling when you finally find your own style and it just feels right, like your not forcing yourself to dress a certain way, it's just you!
5. What hobbies and interests do you have outside of fashion?
Outside of fashion, I love to do many things but I overall love to stay active. For creative activities I love taking pictures, looking at older photographs, and gathering inspiration (that is literally what I do in my free time 90% of the time). Working out and self care is also extremely important to me, so I am always going to the gym and just making sure I am taking care of myself in that way. Also, I am very very social, so I am always hanging out with my friends and going to events (I think that is my Sagittarius moon in me).
6. And the bonus question I like to ask everyone before they go: What’s something you’re really proud of right now?
I am really proud of how far I came with how I think and interact with the World. I think in the past year I got to understand myself a lot better and I am much more aware of myself. I have a better understanding of my dreams, career goals, and what I need to work on with myself. I went abroad and lived in Europe for 6 months, so I think I did a lot of reflecting there! This is the happiest I have been in awhile and I worked so hard to feel this way.
