WEAR IS SHE WEDNESDAY:
DENI
2.23.22
Deni is adventurer if there ever was one. She's a quick study, a student of the world and, when it comes to the opportunity to try something new, a yes woman. Not to mention, she's trotting all over the globe in one fabulous outfit after another. As a surprisingly young polyglot, she tells me how her language studies started when her parents raised her on Russian and Azerbaijani and continued on from there.
For those of us who found math to be another language to begin with, it may come as a shock to hear that Deni has studied the subject in yet another foreign language to her, Spanish, but she did indeed. She now has nearly 7 languages under her belt and so many fabulous inspirations to share with us, so keep reading for her thoughts on Jimi Hendrix, vintage coats and blue silk scarves.
Hi Deni, Please introduce your wonderful self!
Hi my name is Deni, I am from Washington D.C., USA but currently living in Edinburgh, in the United Kingdom. I guess I’d say the coolest thing about myself is that I am currently learning my 7th language. The languages are English, Spanish, Russian, Azerbaijani, Mandarin, German and French.
How would you describe your style?
Eclectic and changing.
Who or what are your current biggest style inspirations?
I am always very inspired by my surroundings, music, and nature. I also draw inspiration from every type of media I consume, whether that be film/TV, or social media.
What's the best outfit you've ever worn?
The best outfit changes as my style keeps developing, but last week I wore a cream colored suit with a blue silk scarf over it and I’d wear it again soon.
What's on your wishlist right now?
I don’t really feel like I need anything, I am trying to limit my consumption as much as possible, but I love interesting vintage coats and vests so I think if I put something on a list it would be that.
Who would you invite to your fantasy dinner party?
Kid Cudi, Albert Camus, Jimi Hendrix, Iris Apfel, Mick Jagger, Elsa Schiaparelli and Salvador Dali. I think that could be an intimidating but interesting combination.
What's something you're really proud of right now?
I’m putting a lot of effort in university this semester, much more than last semester. I’m also putting a lot of time and energy into different creative outlets and really prioritizing that.
